Polished Natural Quartzite
Vitrum takes its name from the Latin for glass, and the stone earns it. The ground is a bright, crystalline white, and running through it are fine, feathery strands of pale gold and silver-grey that lie across the surface like frost on a window, so the slab reads as light and texture rather than veining. Polished, the quartz crystal in the stone catches the light and gives the surface a translucent, almost glassy depth that is at its best over large, uninterrupted areas: a gallery or lobby wall, a full-height feature wall, a backlit surface, a reception desk or a long run of worktop. It is quiet enough to pair with almost anything and reads especially well against dark floors, brass and warm timber. As a quartzite it is harder than marble and resists etching, so it suits kitchens as well as bathrooms. Every slab is unique, and the surface should be sealed and cared for.
